Skyline Rooftop Terrace
Rooftop landscape · lounge, dining & planting
An unused roof turned into an evening room above the city: a slatted pergola over a lounge and fire bowl, a dining terrace under string lights, and planters that frame the view.
Rooftops in Muscat are usually left to water tanks. This one faces the evening sky and the city lights, so we designed it for the hours after sunset. A black-steel pergola with teak louvres shades the lounge by day; at night the louvres catch the glow of the fire bowl and the lanterns.
A frameless glass balustrade keeps the view open, low planters of grasses and two olive trees soften the edges, and a timber deck on pedestals hides drainage and services while keeping the roof waterproofing intact.
